I just re-installed my outboard, the fin just above the lower unit, does this have to be flush with the bottom of the boat or can it be raised up a couple of inches? What is the norm on this?

Re: Question for You??

I take it you are referring to your boat with transom repairs, which I guess are now completed.
You really should keep all of your posts with the same question in the same place. Eliminates alot of guessing and you will receive alot more answers.
Did you install a jackplate?
If not, I would start, with your hull, with the plate about 1" above the bottom of the centerline.
Perform all of the tests that we mentioned in your other post and record the results, than post back and we can take it from there.

Re: Question for You??

my transom project is complete, I posted because I had a question.. took the boat for a spin.. 4,300rpm's @ 53 mph's..not sure if this is WOT.. the motor is all the way down putting the fin on the lower unit about 1" above the bottom center line..have a hot foot that may need to be adjusted to get WOT
