Howdy, westarr.

Welcome to iboats :)

HD-20 is a 1941-1942 Johnson 2.5HP model number. Someone along the way put a Sea King tank on it. It was almost surely made by Johnson.

Check with the Antique Outboard Motor Club, International, www.aomci.org for best places to get manuals and parts.

Wow quick response, Jb Your Right it the sticker dose say Johnson, For a 41-42 its admaising how well the paper sticker looks. Now do you or anyone know the fuel mix and any tips to fine tunning it?

Fuel mix is 16:1. They are nice little motors probably one of the smallest twins you'll find. They have an odd ball carb/fuel mixture setup.I believe there is a knob on the top Starboard side of the motor this adjusts the high speed mixture open 3/4 turn from gently bottomed run at high speed and adjust to best operation. when pushed down momentarily primes the carb like a choke. On the front of the crankcase there is what looks like a Y fitting with tubing on one end and a rod with a bend on the end at the other end.
that is the idle mixture adjust.Open to 3/4 turn out from gently bottomed.
Run the motor at idle and turn the needle for smoothest operation.
If it hasn't been run lately you will probably have to go through the fuel system to clean up and repair. While the magneto operates like any mag it is different than your typical magneto. You my find info and help at www.aomci.org.
