Question on Battery vs Circuit Breaker for Hook Ups

When installing electronics..the Teleflex manuals say to disconnect the battery. I have a main circuit breaker..would it be ok to trip that instead of going into my bass boat and disconnecting the battery?

Yes.

The circuit breaker, well............. breaks the circuit . The flow of electrons is stopped and therfore you cannot get a spike.

As it turns out..the main circuit breaker isn't a main circuit breaker..thank you for your help but it only turns off those circuits in the fuse box. So the engine and trim still operated...I did as the manual said and disconnected the battery.
