Just got a 98' Sea Ray Sundancer with the 7.4l Mercruiser engine.
I cleaned up the bilge and the boat sat for 4 days with no water intrusion at all. Took the boat on a 40 minute run and the bilge has water in it. May 12 oz. I can start the process of determining the source of the water, but thought it was peculiar that there were very small black bits in the water. Almost like black pepper sized (or a bit bigger) of small black bits that felt rubbery but was hard to tell. Water in the bilge was very clear. My guess is the v-belt or maybe, the sea water pump impeller deteriorating. Impeller is mounted in the engine room - not on the Bravo II outdrive.
Any thoughts? I am planning to replace the impeller this week.
