Question on boat lifts

I really don't know where this should be posted since there doesn't seem to be a forum for lifts and accessories.

I have a 4000 lb shorestation lift. My neighbor wants to trade for his 3500 lb (or maybe he said it's 3200 lbs?) But he's going to put his electric winch on and I keep my winch. My question is, what is the difference between the 4000lb and 3500lb lifts? Is it just the winch, winch and cable, or is the frame itself heavier?
