I did it once b4 years ago on my old mustang and 4got how, i think my points are going bad. Any pictures would be appreciated on these topics to, Thanks in advance. Can i get points and fuel filter from auto parts and save cash? Plus distributor cap and rotor i want to change to, i know how to do that i just need to know if i can get new from auto parts store?

Mercruiser has never had a 4.0 engine. There was a 3.0, a 4.3, or a 5.0 which is it supposed to be?

Go up into the Adults Only sticky at the beginning of this Mercruiser Forum, lots of good info in there:

You can get marine parts fron Napa if you desire, but you will need to know the correct engine.

Ayuh,... I'd be Surprised to see points in a 1991 distributer, myself...

There's probably a fuel filter in the fuel pump, 'n another in the carb, at the inlet fitting...
Yes, Napa usually has 'em, or can get 'em...
