I have a 22ft with a 350 and bravo one. Sometimes running 30mph it will be running 4000 rpms, and then sometimes it will be running 4800. I dont know why it changes, it doesnt change underway, but different trips. Is it trim settings? I also have trim tabs, would that change it??? I am new to sterndrive and tabs. and the prop is 14 1/4x19

Ayuh,....

Both the drive's Trim setting,+ the Tab's setting will effect your Speeds at RPMs.....

Re: Question on RPMs

How many people, how full the tank, wind, sea conditions, they all affect rpm's.

That gauge accurate?

Re: Question on RPMs

You do realize that your trim setting is not a constant thing. You adjust it up or down for different weather and wave conditions, different boat loads (weight) and load distribution, along with using trim tabs. If you have every thing trimmed down, the bow will plow thru the water and the rpms and speed will be low.
