I made this tell tale out of a brake line I had laying around the garage, used compression to pipe elbow and a compression bulkhead fitting with 1/8 barb as an outlet. (HVAC pneumatic controls).
Anyhow, wouldn't the pee stream alone remove enough heat to at least make a cool spot on that cylinder? if i made the outlet too big? I have no newer outboards to compare outlet size.

Don't worry about it, you aren't going to bleed off enough water through an 1/8" fitting to make any difference in block temperature. Besides, that is about the size of the factory tell tale squirter.

I agree, very nicely done. Good job!

TD, I vote this one for addition to the sticky type thread on installing telltales - great info for the guys who have the older V4s.

I would be honered to have my pics stickied. Thanks for all the positive comments guys. It was really a simple thing to do, not sure I would suggest a brake line though especially for salt water, I just likes it better than a rubber hose and had all kinds of room there to work, stainless tube (and a tubing bender) would be the cats meow.

Here's mine. I just used rubber hose from an auto parts store. The motor is a '72 Johnson 65hp.

The nipple is a stock OMC/BRP carburetor part. I tapped into the head after consultation with my local OMC/BRP dealer. This was done because the only good place to put one in the powerhead water jacket, is behind the ignition component bracket. Putting the nipple there would make replacing the hose a major hassle.

I also offset my nipple in the top of the head, so that it would not interfere with the lifting point.

Nice, boy oh boy what a difference a few years can make, 72 looks alot busier than they did in 67. (another great illustration for the file)
