Question regarding no-feedback steering

Getting ready to order a new steering system.
My original is Telefex model number not found.
It has a little less than 3 turns lock to lock, may have been original equipment.
Why would a boat need the no-feedback system?

Ayuh,.... If ya don't have P/S, it'll stop much of the prop torque feedback against the steerin' wheel,....
