Question!

I just got a 71 larson something.... Has a mercusier in it, chevy 283. How does shifting work in this things? All i have is a throttle handle but no buttons! Am i missing something? I thought there should be a button that i hold down to take it out of n into drive...

don't know about yers. but on both my 72 and 75 mercruisers, i've had a mercontrol with a black button in the center of the pivot point. ya push the button in and move the control fwd for extra rpms in neutral. other than that, ya just move the control fwd or backward for the desired results......no buttons to push.....w/o knowing what ya have it could be different though. have ya got a pic of it ya could post?

On some control models, you pull the whole handle out for throttle only. Mine (Uflex) are that way (now).

Some throttles require that you pull the handle outward slightly to get 'throttle only'........;)
You probably have a different model than OEM......
