Questionable orifice

I just rebuilt the carbs on my 1976 Johnson 70 and noticed that one of the high speed orifices had been chipped. Looks like it was tight and chipped a little when someone tried to loosen it and almost stripped it. Does anyone think I should replace it or will it be O.K.? Any advise would be helpful, Thanks!

Re: Questionable orifice

As long as the ramps and the hole (including rifeling) are OK it'll be fine. That usually doesnt bother them as long as the chip isnt still in there or disturbing the flow.

Re: Questionable orifice

As long as it is sealed and the damage is external to the orifice (not affecting the diameter or length of the ID) there should not be any issue. Changes to the spray pattern should be minimal and performance not affected. If it's still apart and you have doubt, they are cheap and readilly available.
