Questions about Arkansas River

I live in Little Rock and I'm looking for somewhere to take the boat out after work (so not super far). Is the Arkansas River safe to wakeboard and tube between Big Dam Bridge and a bit East of Downtown LR? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for places near LR that I can go to in evenings?

You might look into lake maumelle. I would think you would be able to tube and wakeboard but i would check first, i did my test driving on this lake.
