Hello, everyone

I am a newbie, I just got my first boat 2 days ago. The boat doesn't have trolling motor.

I bought minn kota PD V2 and a marine deep cycle battery yesterday, when I got home, I found the PD V2 only has a 2 small ring terminal. It doesn't fit on the battery that I bought.

It doesn't make sense to me, do I need to buy any adapter for these connectors?

Thanks advance

Re: Questions about trolling motor installation

The threads on the battery are bigger than the ring terminals.

Cut off the old/small ring terminals and crimp on some crimp connectors with bigger rings, 10-12ga crimp connectors come with several different ring sizes; 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, etc.

I would have the same situation if I tried to connect my trolling motor direct to the batteries as the ring terminals are sized for the socket/receptacle the trolling motor is connected to.
