Just picked up a 1985 Winner Z880 bass Boat with 140 hp Johnson on it.

Have another boat , this is my first Bass Boat.

Read the posts and would like to have a few questions answered, if possible.

There is a "switch" or something that looks like a swicth, right underneath the ignition on this boat. .What is it and what does it do ?

I am assuming this boat, the Z880, had several outboards sold with it and I have the 140 hp.

I cannot seem to locate the hydraulic resevoir for the outdrives hydraulic pump....is there one and where is it's location ?

The third question might not be for this particular forum and I apologize in advance if I am posting it in the wrong forum..........but when I lower the outdrive and go full throttle to take off, it takes about 20 seconds for the boat/engine to "take off"......the rpms stay low and them slowly creep up and then it takes off and it runs like a bat outta hell"

My first thought it that ther outdrive gears are slippng ?...but not 100 % sure...any ideas ?

Thank you

You need a manual to syncronize everything right!

Re: Questions regarding this Z880 Bass Boat

My 1850 Sea Quest is around 2000 pounds and is rated for maximum horse power at 175,however mine came with 120 horses. It takes me about 5 to10 seconds to go from 0 rpm's to plane. When loaded with peaple it takes even longer to get on plane and if I have to much weight unbalanced in the front she won't plane at all.

Wish I have more horse power! Hmm..

Re: Questions regarding this Z880 Bass Boat

Well the wife says I dont need a bigger boat with more horse power to go further out after tuna...
apparently my love for (close to shore) reef fishing has landed me all the boat I need??
Anyway I can't afford to put up an argument right now...

Cheers!
