Quick and easy Evinrude 70 question

I am doing a bit of work on a friends Evinrude 79 (1976 mod)

I ran it for a few minutes the other day and noticed that it doesnt have a tail tell. My Merc has one, which lets me know the water pump is working.

Does this 1976 Evinrude 70 have one? And if not how is a person to tell if the WP is working?

I ran this thing in the lake day before yesterday and sure didnt see one!

I have a 74 or 75 jhonson 70 hp and it does not have a water out let the water comes back out through the prop and the lower unit to tell if its working u need to get some temp putty stuff and put it on the top of the motor and see if it melts or not u should be able to get it from any jhonson dealer im not sure where my book is right now but it does tell u what u need and how to test it in the repair manual

Pretty sure there is not one. I have a 1977 140hp and it does not have one.
