Hey guys,

Not sure where to start but its probably something easy. When I put engine in gear going forward its fine but then when I put it back in neutral the revs stay high. The idle adjustment screw stays out. Then when I push it back down the revs will go down. Do I need to put oil on it? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Adjust the threaded plastic trunion on the throttle cable at the engine cable clamp so that when you return the throttle from whatever throttle setting to idle, the idle rpm is where you want it.

Can you show me where that is?

Notice the metal cam with the scribe mark on it that slides against the roller. Notice the shoulder bolt that the cam hinges on.

Directly beneath that shoulder bolt are the two cables, the threaded trunion, and the clamp retainer I spoke of. The throttle cable is the cable closest to the hood pan.

Just loosen the cable clamp retaining bolt somewhat so that you can turn the trunion to retard the throttle to where you need it, then re-tighten that bolt.
