I'm working on a 1970 25hp sportster (25002ec) , The carb was all gummed up and passing no fuel so I stripped it down and now its flooding out. I've ordered a new carb kit but I have a float question. Should the little tang be behind the needle valve assy or should the needle valve be sitting on it. At the moment its behing the needle valve assy. and stops the float dropping but some drawings I've seen suggest the needle should sit on it.
