Quick cmc tilt and trim question?

I have a cmc PT-130, the 2 -40 amp relays broke free of their mounting point and dunked in the bilge water(major smoke and small fire) completely melted the relays and the sockets. I got a new wiring schematic from cmc and it shows a cooper bussman shortstop breaker but does not specify which it is, does anyone know if it is a type I,II,III(auto reset, reset when power removed, or push button reset) and what amperage it is??
It appears as if PO had removed the breaker, and replaced it with a fuse and would like to put wiring back to factory. I'm guessing 40 amp type 1. Also does anyone know any source for the relay sockets?(I will just spade right to the relay if I have to but socket would be cleaner). thanks Bruce

Re: Quick cmc tilt and trim question?

I am an elctrical guru, and i dont think i even know what the cooper bussman is...but..

I did have an issue with my hydraulic jack plate that uses relays to power it.

the system came with an inline breaker device..

it has two side mounted poles for the ring connectors to get bolted to. and a little plunger, that supposedly will stick out farther than normal if the breaker is tripped...

well the Jack motor went bad and that breaker didnt trip.. also the relays went bad as well..

after all the trouble the factory tech sent me a new relay set up that had a 30 amp in line automotive type fuse wired in the system!!

that tells me that he doesnt trust that breaker!!!!

good luck
