Guys,
My starcraft 14ft aluminum seafarer has been sitting in the garage all summer and I'm working to get "her" out once before winter. I have 4 small holes in the transom from the fishfinder. What is an easy , temporary, way to fill the holes? screws with 4200?

I plan on redoing the boat this winter, so I just want a temporary fix for one boat ride.

One ride? Mythbusters made a sailboat out of duct tape that lasted a long time. Might try to tape inboard and outboard and crank it up!

Been there...done that:)

What works for me in a pinch is a SS screw driven into a plastic grocery bag that's been folded 5-6 times to give it some thickness(oh come on, don't laugh:rolleyes:).

It will keep water out, and possibly worry any passengers that watch you install it:)

The good thing about this repair is that it is not permanent as the 5200 would be...and who doesn't have a plastic bag and screws in the boat or truck?:D

After further review, I went with the plastic grocery bag tactic. Except I didnt have any plastic bags so I used paper bags instead!!! Fold it over about 4-5 times right?? Looks great!!! Now to drive to the deepest and furthest part from the shore.:D

I went with 2 screws and silicone sealant. Looks good. I'll have the boat in the water by the end of the week.

Isn't duck tape always the answer to questions of this nature?

Or, any ol question I suppose, eh!

Have fun getting the boat on the water!

don't forget that other gift from the gods*, JBWeld....they have a stick form that will even cure underwater, an essential for any onboard toolkit, IMHO

*in the original version of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel before the cardinals ordered it changed, you can clearly see JBWeld and a roll of duct tape being handed to Adam :D

I used to think duct tape was the answer to most problems..But I have been a GORILLA tape guy for a while..

The next person I subdue will NEVER get away with that stuff..It will peel flesh off the bone before letting go

If it moves and it shouldn?t, use duct tape. If it doesn?t move and it should, use wd40. ;)

Yah, I am with ya. When I first started immobilizing guys with duck a few got away. I quickly learned that I just had to use more. I haven't lost one in a long time now.

I haven't yet used Gorilla but sounds like something I could get into. Maybe some money savings there if I don't have to use so much wrapping guys up.

I'll have to give that a shot, thanks for the tip Kev:D

That's easy...

Just JB Weld it to a Banjo Minnow, they will never know what hit them!

Or just slice up the ends of a strip to make a feather...push a hook through the tape and troll away!!
Any fish that even bumps it will be snared!
