Quick Lower Unit Question for you Master Marine Mechanics - OMC Sterndrive Oil Leak

I have an oil leak from my lower u nit.
Hasn't even been in the water since winterized in Nov. I noticed oil dripping from the lower unit housing where the prop meets the housing. The drive is set to it's lowest setting but the boat itself is tilted down a bit (whether that matters).
The outdrive was left uncovered this winter, although we didn't have a crazy hard freeze (I'm in Middle TN)

Is my problem possibly busted seals in the lower drive shaft?
How can I determine for sure? Since it was left uncovered, what's worst case scenario?

Anything is possible. If you have a leak, drain the gear lube and do a pressure test to find the leak. A spray bottle with some soapy water will help.
Might want to post what OMC drive you have, they made more than one.
