Hey all, this is my first electronics posting. I have a Lowrance X-65 model. It had always worked very well, until last year when my transducer died. Anyway, the unit sat unused for about 2 years. I changed out my transducer and put the unit back on and its acting a little funny. First of all, everytime you turn it off, and then back on, it loses all its memory. All the presets(brightness, sensativity,etc...) have to be reset each time I turn it back on. It leads me to believe that there may have been some kind of "internal battery"-?- that died when I let it sit for 2 years. Is this possible?

Yes, PC. Go to lowrance.com and ask customer service about it.

Re: Quick Lowrance fishfinder question......

Call Lowrance as JB said.
I have a 1985 model X50 and it still works perfect but did have one transducer go flaky. Anyway Just got to wondering what type internal battery so checked my manual and nothing there. Sent lowrance a letter E-Mail to ask and got back there are no user serviceable parts in the unit and they no longer repair the unit.
Next I called them and talk to several but no one could tell me type or voltage of the battery. However finally found someone who sent me a hard copy of a PDF scehmetic. From the scehmetic appears no plug so must be soldered on the board. I am not sure if it showed the voltage. Since the unit has gas nigtrigen gas in side to keep mositure out I have not opened it. I think where I got the info was from the LEI group.

My unit has a paramenter to keep the the setting or not so you may want to check that setting. Last I would try setting to factory defaults and see if that makes any difference.

Good Luck
