Hi, I have a thread going but i need to know asap so i can get the part on my lunch break. so i have a 1994 140hp johnson, it starts up but dies out after 5 sec. I thought it was my carb so i rebuild all 4. As i was rebuilding them last night i realize i couldnt take out the "needle valve screw and spring" on one of the carb. Now can this be the problem why my motor wont stay running? I believe the needle valve is the idle ajustment correct? Should i just putting the carbs back on the motor and give it a go, or should i just go purchase the part first?

The part is # 9 and 12 on the attach picture.

Thanks for your help

vince.

If the needle won't come out, what are you going to buy?

Re: quick question help fast.

If the needle doesnt come off I will have to purchase a carb body assembly and a needle valve screw and spring. That is 80 bucks. But if the needle vavle doesnt affect the reason for my motor not idling for more then 5 sec then i will not purchase it yet.
