I am needing to get the carb kits for a 1992 60hp engine, the parts diagram shows early model carbs and late model carbs. Not sure which my eninge has, both diagram carb explosions look the same. My model number is J60TLENE and serial number is G 03165118. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tex

Re: Quick Question on Johnson Outboard

they are two different carbs, look at the diagrams, they have different connections for the primer fuel line connections, is the easiest way to tell. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=290315

the one on the left is the early carb, the one on the right is the late carb.

It doesn't matter which carburetors you have, both carbs use the same repair kit #396701

To tell the difference, the late model carbs have a black flat plastic plate on the very top held by 4 screws.
