Locate the small inspection plate located on the lower column held by 2 small screws, behind that is your shift linkage...make sure you outboard is in nuetral then disconnect the shift rod, next locate the stainless steel clip on the backside of the foot, its v shaped. behind that is a nut that has to be removed...now locate were the exhaust exits and find the bolt, start by removing that bolt by the exhaust first then the nut behind the v clip...the foot should slip apart...if its been along time and the drive shaft was not lubed the last time it was apart you may have to stand the outboard on its head and shoot some PB blaster through the exhaust relief holes to soak the drive shaft.
