Quick question on winterizing this year..

On my 91 4.3 Mercruiser:

Every year, I usually pull the thermostat after draining the block and fill fill of RV antifreeze and put a new thermostat in (OCD I guess). I just had a new thermostat and impeller put in 2 months ago. Instead of pulling the stat this time, I could remove the water hoses and fill from there. The question is, which ones do I pull to fill the block?

Re: Quick question on winterizing this year..

drain block and manifolds

remove the large hose on the stbd side of the t-stat housing

leave the two block plugs on either side of the block out

pour anti-freeze in the large hose until you see the antifreeze coming out both sides of the block

let the antifreeze drain out, reinstall plugs and hose - you're all set

its a good idea to pour anti-freeze down the water intake hose until you see it coming out the intakes on the drive too (backflush)
