quick reply needed on prop hub question

my rubber hub inside my prop turns alittle left or right when i put the shear pin and turn with pliers..bad hub?

We can't see your engine so you might have had an answer by now had you told us what motor you are working on.

Please be a little more specific. What are you turning with a pliers. Whats moving? The rubber is physically moving within the prop or you just see normal compression and release (like squeezing a rubber ball). If the rubber is actually slipping then yes -- you need to have the prop repaired or a new prop. If all you are seeing is some compression of the rubber then no -- it's ok. The rubber is bonded to the outer part of the prop and to the hub so it must not slip or the boat won't move under full throttle because the hub is spinning.
