Quick start, quick stall.

My starboard engine will immediately start, run for a second or two and stall. It will do this about 3 times before it will keep running. Port engine went throught identical routine and starts and runs fine.

I recently did some carb work to solve a chronic running rich situation and this is probably a by product of that. I found float levels very high and lowered them, among other small settings and adjustments.

Any ideas before I just take it apart to look for something I don't now yet?

Thanks!

Oops...1990 OMC 5.7 litre with Holley 4175 carbs.

Agreed. Unfortunately, this is one of the few Holley carbs without external float level adjustments.

Thanks.

It seems to be, yes.

Something odd did happen this weekend. I was doing some electrical work behind the dash and needed to turn the key to the on position to check something out. I was reaching from a strange position and turned it too far and it fired right up.

Ordinarily, I have to give the throttles a half pump and "get them running" if you know what I mean, but it started right up and idled very well with no throttle input at all. I was in total agreement about the float level, but this makes me think again.

What say you?
