I have a 2002 Johnson 150.. Had issue with rough idle and wouldn't run smooth etc. In checking for spark the Port bank has no spark.. Checking the manual for test. Temp is warmed up as required (150 +) , but still no spark.. The CDI troubleshooting sheet says to unhook black and yellow wires (plug).. Did so and spark came back.. Have not found cause yet.. Is there an issue if we leave Quick Start unhooked? Seems to start ok without it..

Check the shift switch.-----It is found on the engine block shift linkages.

Quickstart uses white/black wire from temp sensor on head, directly to powerpack. The black/yellow and black/orange wires when grounded by the ign switch and shift assist switch, kill spark to the motor.
