I had to replace a cable and now the lock out for trottle only does not work. We had to take the control handle apart to remove. Now it will go in gear and up to speed in forward only, will go in Rev. but can not go above an Idle. No free throttle for starting and warm up, Help!!!<br /> It is a quicksilver control with power trim and a trailer switch

Re: Quicksilver Control

Either or both cables are probably misadjusted at the engine.

Re: Quicksilver Control

I had the same problem with the black button not pushing in .I used to slam it with my hand to depress the button until I bruised my palm so badly that I decided to get it fixed.I sat with my mechanic(a very detail oriented guy)as he disassembled the unit on his bench right down to the ball bearing. He checked and cleaned and greased and reassembled the unit and it still did not work so he replaced it .I have heard other cases here of the same.Charlie
