I have been doing a lot of repairs on my ignition systems on my 3 Mercs. The Seloc guide references using a Quicksilver Ignition Analyzer to be able to fully test the switchboxes, and coils. I looked up what the part number was and found it was has been replaced by a new part number. That new part number is for a DVA. My question is since the analyzer that is named in Seloc isnt available anymore can a DVA do the same tests on switchboxes, and coils? If so, what is the procedure? The repair guides say to follow the instructions for doing the tests on those parts included with the analyzer which obviously isnt possible with it being discontinued. Any help would be great.
