Does anyone know if a Quicksilver Laser 2 part number 48-16990-20 will fit on a Yam 115 that currently has a Laser 2 part number 48-16992-22 fitted. I know the -20 and -22 is the pitch and as theenginge runs at 4600 WOT with the 22" pitch I am considering the 20" to improve the hole shot etc.

Any help welcome.

Carl

OK folks I did a google and eventually discovered it will fit with the correct hub kit. I will see if I can use the hub out of my existing prop.

Re: Quicksilver Laser 2 question

Recommended RPM is 4500 to 5500 so I figure the 2" pitch should give a WOT of 5000 which just happens to be when the engine gives max HP. Another reason for asking about the 20" prop is it is on ebay.

My boat is an Osprey manufactured in Zimbabwe. Size is:
LENGTH 4'57M (15'0")
BREADTH 1,83M (6'0')
DRY WEIGHT 250 KG

From memory the engine is mounted pretty high but I cannot check as boat is 5500 miles away.

Hard to tell without being there and some testing the 20p may work if you can raise the motor that should get your rpms up increase your holeshot and topend, a 19 might be a little closer right out of the box.if im wrong Kenny or Dale or the other gurus will let us know.
Forgot to mention thats a nice looking boat.

Re: Quicksilver Laser 2 question

I'm with you, Ron...based on 4600 with a 22P, a 19 in a high-quality SS AND raising the engine if possible would be best.
Just because the HP is "taken" at 5000, doesn't mean in any way, that's the best RPM to run the engine, in fact it's too low for best economy and engine life.
