Hi All,
I'm about to winterize my boat for winter storage and I am wondering if I can use Lubrimatic to winterize it? I bought a shop manual when I bought the boat and in the lay-up section it says to use Quicksilver. Overton's has a Lubrimatic fall storage kit. Will it hurt anything if the previous owner used Quicksilver and now I use Lubrimatic on it or should Itry to find Quicksilver products to use??? Thanks for any and all info...............Larry

Lubrimatic products are good. I have sold them for over 15 years without a problem.
****

Re: Quicksilver or Lubrimatic??

I would without a doubt use quicksilver. If the previous owner used it, keep the motor familiar with the product.

Its a highly recommended product and I have been told to use it time and time again, which I do and have no problems with my motor.

A good example is this.

My lower unit oil drain plug cracked at the bottom and I didn't know for a month. When I went to replace the lower unit oil I noticed this and when I drained what was left, it was still as clean as ever, considering water had entered the gearcase.

It is a great product.

Which product you decide to use will serve you just fine provided you cover all the bases. I sell Mercury motors and therefore recommend Mercury products but have great success with off-brands such as Lubrimatic and Sierra as well.
