So I'm cleaning out the garage and I've had this Quicksilver Power 2 prop kicking around for a number of years. We upgraded the 18' to much bigger, and the prop didn't go with the boat sale. So I figure its time to get rid of it (ebay), any ideas from the pro's on what this prop would be worth? Its a 19 pitch (I believe) that shifts to 21 pitch at the set RPM. It was an unreal prop, made a huge difference in the performance of our 18' with a 3.0L . Hate to get rid of her, but don't see myself down sizing anytime soon.
If anyone has a little more info it would be helpful. From what I can dig up online, it fits Alpha 1 outdrive or a 135 and up outboard. The Numbers on this prop are : 48-823510A21 19P . If anyone happened to have any more info on it for me, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks !

You just might have the missing 'Babe Ruth rookie card'!

Check out this link....

I came across that in the part number search. Yup they are rare and were pricey. Paid $1200 for it new, in the late 90's. Just need to figure out a price for it now. Would like to through it on Ebay but don't really know where to start with price. Don't want to over price it and sit on it for two months.
If anyone was interested Pm me, would like to see it find a new home.

I was curious about the initial pitch on this part number? The 21p is about right for my style. But a 19p is not low enough,IMO, for the holeshot at the cost verse just getting a highfive prop.

I checked with bbprops to see if they can work a prop over aka lab or pro finish them.

You might try ebay for listings of similar props also wouldn't hurt to cruise the net using various terms refering to shifting props.

The old "new" price was $750.00 before the prop became no longer available from Mercury Marine, But there are still a hand full of dealers that still have some in stock through out the country.

823510A21 Copy and paste the number in the link below to see a price.

Bought one of of ebay. Seams pretty simple and solid design. What puzzles me is there is no locking nut and the endcap which allows for the adjustments nearly restricts exhaust exit.

Does anybody have the install instructions? I installed my prop but noticed that I could preload the spring 1/4-1/2 so thats its got a good amount of pressure loaded up. Or I could install the spring loose.

Re: Quicksilver Shifting Prop

Found this in a closed thread :
talk about setting them up. You have to set the spring tension via a cam plate to keep the prop in low pitch at low rpm's. The physical adjustment is very easy. The cam plate is marked and notched so you can make 15 degree movements. This plate is made of plastic. I thought this would be the first thing to give me trouble. I bought an extra one the day I purchase the prop. I still have it in the original package, never opened. Back to the spring tension. It is up to you where you want the prop to shift (which rpm). I liked it to shift just before max rpm for my engine. The first two seasons it took me about 2-3 trys to get the correct spring tension. From then on it never took me more than 2 times. I used my boat to water ski every weekend from April to October for around seven years with this prop. Not every year, but most, I would have to adjust the spring tension, once a season, one notch to keep it shifting the way I liked. The other cool part, is that you can make it down shift also. Back off quick and nail it quick and you hit your "passing gear". You also slow down faster from cruising....;

Hope to put my boat in the lake for the first time this year and first time with the power2 prop. Wanted to check on the install setp of the prop. My question is, how much initial tension should be on the spring? What should I feel and see when the prop shifts for a reference point?
