Greetings from England.
I am not technically minded actually my family claim that I am just capable of changing a spark plug.
I own a 2003 25hp Mariner electric start. engine no. op257638 with remote controlls etc.
I have recently fitted a white faced quicksilver tachometer. To enable the unit to work and to set the switch on the rear of the unit I need to know the following:
1. The number of positive pulses per crank revolution.
2. The number of poles.
The switch settings on the rear of the tachometer are:
2p 3p 4p 5p 6p
4c 6c 8c
Can any one help me?
Regards, David.

Mercs typically set at 6P - would think Mariners would be the same.

Good luck!
