quicksilver throttle

I have a 72 arrowglass viper with a merc 140 my question is I see 2 electrical wires coming from the throttle box that are not hooked up can anybody tell me what they are and do I need them<br />thanks...

What color are they?

the 2 wires have eyelets and they are both yellow with red stripes

start in gear protection. they should be connected

Ayuh,..... Those wires go to the Neutral Safety Switch..........

could you tell me where the neutral safety switch is located so I can figure out how to hook it back up?

The switch is in the box and the wires should be hooked between the start lug on the ign. switch and the wire that is now connected there

This wiring diagram is for a newer model, but you see how those wires work.<br /><br />

I should be able to hook it up now by looking at that diagram..this is an awesome site and thanks for the help..
