quicksiver control box

hi everyone: I have a quicksilver control attached to a 75 hp Mercury. can you tell me how the "throttle only button works" If I press this one the engine doesn't respond only seems to kill the engine. My Seloc Manual does'nt mention how it functions or how it is wired up or how it is attached to the carburator throttle. The engine and contol are a late 1985 series.

Push the button in,and advance the throttle fwd. Should increase rpms while not engaging fwd gear.
