Is there any way to quiet an outboard. Could you put some kind of insulation on the inside of the shroud to quiet it? Would that hurt it? Would it  make it overheat? Does anyone sell something like that?............I just wondered.

actually i took my cowl and sanded it all the paint and stickers off. then i put it in the spray on bedliner booth at work and shot it 1/4" thick with spray on bedliner (rubber) it is all textured and jet black now. looks real good. dont get a low pressure liner on it it will suck, high pressure is the best way to go. it is alot quieter i think.

you can also use Spray foam...from a Hardware store...... but put it on thin... it GROWS as it dries..... you will have to trim it with a Razor blade. and be careful not to seal up the Air intakes.
