All trailer lights work fine, exept when headlights are on, R brake is applied, no light at all on rt side trailer. Grounds look good, hooking into an Avalanche 5 wire bracket so that should be good. Any thoughts?

Thanks

What you are describing makes no sense?.so it must be a ground.

Probably not a ground issue. Was the trailer wiring in place for a while or did you just wire the plug?

Sounds like a ground issue to me.

The avalanche has the bracket installed, previous owner never used, so hopefully the truck wiring is OK. I figured it was a ground issue, I checked them to make sure they are tight, I will strip the wire ends and reapply terminals etc. It's wierd it's only one side goes out when headlights are on then brakes applied though.

Thanks for the replies

GM has some weird ideas about the headlights and turn signals. I have seen them turn off both DRLs when turn signals are used and also turn off which ever side turn signal is used. I have a real strong hunch that is what is going on and not a ground issue. You need to find out what was done to put the trailer plug on your tow vehicle.
