R drive shift question

When in the water I did not notice a problem shifting into reverse.Dry with the engine off,when I shift to the reverse detent the prop ratchets and I have to go ever so slightly to get the prop to lock CW.Does this sound like a simple adjustment of sliding the lower cable up in the slot a touch?forward seems fine both in and out of the water.Thanks
