Re: r&r engine

have yer friend help ya down load the real service manual so ya can get his boat right. ditch the clymers.... it don't have all the info ya need in it. the mercruiser sm does though. yep, the file is 1.36GB. so it is large. nothing different about loading a large file vs a small one other than it takes time.
if ya really don't want to download it... get the book. try ebay or there's always the dealer... very expensive though..... sure makes the link look real good...... looks like you need service manual #3, part number 90-95693

Instead of simply clicking on it, use the right mouse button to click on it - some options will pop up, one will be "save target as" (or something similar, depending upon what browser you are using). Choose that option and you can pick where on your hard drive to save it.

Regarding you specific question, I would suggest you use Google and search the images of boat engines.

Re: r&r engine

I've got my 5.0 Mercruiser, basically the same as the 5.7, sitting on a dolly in the garage. I can shoot pictures and email them to you, if you want. I don't know how to upload them to this site. Do you have the high mounted or low mounted power steering pump? Mine has the high mounted. Are you talking about the gas/water separator when you say gas filter? Let me know. Post your answers and include your email and I'll get back to you. I'll go shoot some pictures now. Hy

Re: r&r engine

thats the problem i don't remeber how i unbolted this power steering pump , the belt for it is a short 1 , so it mite be the lower mount , but when i bolt er to engine it makes fill hole tip in to far and there is no room to move it for adjustment , so it could be high or low , and the filter i'm talking about is the gas water seperator , so yes if not to much touble for ya , i would like to see a pic , wllm_culhane@yahoo.com , thanks in advance , just looked at email and there is a upper case under score between wllm and culhane , ya can't see it with the line under my email addy , thanks mate

Re: r&r engine

Take a look at the online parts vendors, many have pictures.
The exploded views will show assembly.
