Might anyone be able to tell me the model numbers for the Timken radial thrust needle bearing and it's accompaning bearing washer. I cannot locate any sort of printing or stamping anywhere on the bearing or washer surfaces. I am fairly certain that the information was stamped on the inside diameter of the bearing. However, my bearing shows signs of wear on the inner rim and may have worn off the information that identifies them. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Radial thrust bearing and washer

Since the reverse gear, radial bearing, thrust washer, and bearing cage come as a set, you will not be able to buy just the bearing and washer from the Merc dealer.

However: in the past I have asked my bearing supplier about the washer. If I remember correctly: The washer only comes in three standard sized thicknesses, so even if it shows signs of wear, the supplier should be able to match it. Same goes for the thrust bearing--it is standard and the supplier should be able to match it even without the numbers. --That is, if you get a cooperative counter person who wants your business.
