For today's trick....

The weather was about to turn sour this morning w/ five storms headed our way. I decided to take my boat off the lift and work on it instead of fishing. When we got to the ramp there were two old guys backing in to take their boat out and a few others heading in the genereal direction. It was thundering, a good time to be off the lake! When they finally got their boat on the trailer, one of them went to the vehicle to get in and pull it out. Next thing out of his mout is "oh ****, I locked the keys in the car!" He had no spare on him, so I called the sheriff to get a deputy out...of course it would be 20 minutes by the time they could get there. After running down the lake to someone elses house and finding a coat hanger, we tried to get it open. By now it is pouring rain w/ lightning and thunder and the real threat of hail and four other boats are beached waiting to load. Soon the deputy showed up and had the car unlocked in no time... just as the rain quit and the sun started to come out. I wasn't mad at these guys a bit. It could happen to anyone and it gives stories like this to tell others. Hope you enjoyed it.

Safe Boating Always.... PLEASE

Re: Ramp foolishness

A good reason to put an extra car key on the boat key ring. And vice versal so when you drive to the dock, you have a key (in case you left the others on the kitchen table!)

Ken
