a near miss, no a full miss....<br /><br />launched my boat at the neighborhood ramp for the first time of the year a few nights ago. i went through my mental checklists and double-checked everything. all looked good so we headed to the ramp which is only 1/4 mile away.<br /><br />i start backing down the ramp, 2 passengers in the boat and me in the truck. as we get to the water and the stern starts floating, i heard the unmistakeable sound of the winch playing out....had it in reverse! the look on the passengers' faces as pretty good as the strap kept playing out....a good 8 feet and still going. my buddy finally reaches out and grabs the trailer guide-ons. (i don't let anyone else put her on or off of the trailer)<br /><br />if my bunks had been recently siliconed and we were on a steeper ramp, it could have been ugly. as it was, there were only a few kids at the ramp who thought it was kinda cool.
