Took it out for the first time since getting it back from dealer.

Ran with the zuk 23 pitch prop as had a light load along with a lift on the motor.
Could only get 5600 to 5800 rpm full throttle. Barely to the 5800rpm.
That was even raising the motor till i had cavitation.
Will try the 21 pitch prop on next run to see where that goes.

With the lift on the anticav plate is 2inches above the bottom of the boat at full up position.

Also the only info i have from the dealer is that the motor checked out fine BUT only has 175psi on all cylinder for compression.

Will check all of them again and borrow some other gauges to compare.

Anybody have anything else that might help?

Thanks.

What boat and motor are you talking about?
What was it at the dealers for and what did they do to it?

5600 to 5800RPM's and 175lbs compression sounds pretty darn good to me,..what's the problem?

With those compression numbers, My guess is dealer should have done a leakdown test. I will look in manual tomorrow, the spec in the OEM manual.

What prop are you running and how much does the rig weigh? What is your WOT RPM?
Sounds like it is propped wrong for the load it is pushing if the motor is making oil and sucking too much fuel and the dealer finds nothing wrong with the motor itself. Did they put a test prop or dyno to test motor to see if it was putting out the proper HP at RPM?

Re: Ran the 140 still Questions

That is my wide open rpm with that prop.
With the 21 pitch it will over rev.

Dealer only did the compression test and no leak down.
I think they only tank ran it as far as i know.

I do not remember what the the motor and boat weigh.
But the net i could pick up myself and i think only weighs 70 to 80 pounds at the most.

The dealer does not have much in the way of the dealers down states have.

Thanks will see if i can come up with a leak down tester.
