I have a Lexmark printer that isn't a year old yet but both ink cartridges are going dry at the same time. I checked the prices for both cartridges and I can buy a new printer cheaper than replacing the fool cart. I have tried these places that refill your old cartridges but was not pleased with what they did(or didn't do). So now I will have to throw my current printer out(and it will go to the land fill)cause the cost of cartridges is more than the printer. Anyway, so much for my Rant. :( :(

Re: Rant about Printers

I bought a Lexmark printer 2-3 years ago because it was cheaper than a new cartridge for my old printer...and better. I refilled the black cartridge many many times before it finally got clogged up. Then I bought another identical printer with two cartridges on ebay for $5 and I'm refilling those...and now I have a spare printer. :)

They make a lot more money off the cartriges than they do the printers. Once you understand this, you can be at peace. :) <br />I never buy a printer without checking the price of cartriges first. It seems to me that the more expensive the printer, the cheaper the cartrige.

If you buy an office type printer, the cartriges are abought three times bigger, and they cost the same. I refill my own on the black one, but I buy new color as I do photography and I havnt found a refilled one to suit me yet. I have one of those lexmarks at work amd Im glade I dont have to put up with it at home. I have an HP Office jet G55 here at the house, and its awesome.

Re: Rant about Printers

Tks Guys for your comments on my rant about printers. The drift I am getting is basically you get what you pay for and I must change my ways to cheaper is not better in this case. I am more than willing to pay more for an item if in the long run I am saving money and the land fill. Will go out and start pricing the better ones and see where that leads me. Thanks for the help.
