RANT -- Any Other Earthlink Customers Caught In The Vortex?

I'm aggrivated! When I subscribed to DSL, Earthlink was jonny-on-the-spot! They provided a box with all the carp needed to git hooked-up. Well, they just discontinued Total Access. I just got offline from a two hour "chat" session with what i think was a machine from EMBARQ.COM.
Earlier today, my desktop went whacky, and a "total access" auto-update routine started, got itself lost looking for some cryptic file, and kept trying over and over and OVER again!!
Finally, I got miffed enough to hunt-down my "trusty" earthlink INSTALL CD, and tried to re-install total access... That just angered the internet gawds, and with no further promt from me, it took me to Mr robotto.....

Domo madigato!!

Why didn't these clowns get their act together BEFORE purchasing millions of accounts?
To top it off, the only way this cyborg on the other end of the keyboard could help me, was for me to give not just MY pw/screename, but all four accts!!! This is sloppy. I'm just glad it didn't axe me for my %$%in CREDIT CARD NUMBERS!
Anyone else caught in this merger vortex from hell, or is it just me?
Talk about yer "hostile takeovers"!! I'm about to go git drunk!

I don't know about your area, but around here Earthlink DSL is just a rebranded Bellsouth (now AT&T) DSL. Depending on how your service is connected/configured, you may not need the software at all. Mine came with a bunch of stuff on CD as well but as it turns out it was just a bunch of fluff and not required.
