hello guys,i am helping out a fellow boater with a hard cranking 5.7 rapido reman. carburator is a new 1409 edelbrock with matching edelbrock performer intake manifold .
ok the problem is say we drove a few miles to the fishing ground shut the engine down fish for a few at least a hour and try to restart it would crank for a long while before it catch, and when it does catch it idle real low and want to cut off. the boat runs great otherwise .
install new plugs, wires, distributor module, the coil is about two season old. as i said it runs great just hard starting after sitting. timing is at 8 degree rapido had said never to time his 5.7 at 8 it must be set at 10 degree. the engine also has a cam in it. should he realy bump up the timing to 10 degree?? your thought guys.
