I was thinking, after my repairs are done to the interior of my 14' (jon boat i guess), would it be nice to apply a spray in liner? I would like to try the Raptor liner. Jeep guys like this stuff and it doesnt look too agressive to be uncomfortable to sit or walk on. They have tintable kits to make any color you want, I definitly wouldnt do black because of the heat it would draw, maybe a teal or light gray, anything but black. I'm just wondering if it will adhere to fiberglass. What do you all think of this idea? If anyone has pics, that would be great. And please dont tell me about that garbage they sell at PepBoys that rolls on. I have all the needed equipment to spray, and it lays better than a roll on. I dont like the rubbery feel of the roll on kit either. Heres a link to the stuff I want to try. http://www.tptools.com/p/2600,233_U-Pol-Raptor-Truck-Bed-Liner-Kit.html

Most of the posters here on iBoats do not recommend it. Makes future repairs more difficult and in a marine environment it has proven to have adherance and longevity issues. It's your boat and your choice. Just giving you the overview of the forum posts.

I had Rhino liner in my jeep for 15 years. It was as tough as nails. The only thing is, when it gets wet, it is very slick. Not sure you want it in a boat. That being said, there are a few offshore boats on tht that have done this and it came out great. The difference between the do it yourself jobs and the professional jobs are heat and you can put it on up to 1/4 inch thickness. . The rhino lining in my jeep was put on at a very high temperature for bonding. I have no experience with the raptor lining.

If you do use it, make sure you do a light color, even the light grey on my boat gets hot in the sun.

I did search before posting this, and the only thing I found that people didnt like about spray liners was when applied to the hull. There isnt much talk about the inside except application on decking. I'm looking to rough up the inside of my fiberglass and apply directly to it.

The raptor liner is a chemical reaction that causes the material to raise its own temp, harden and set up within a couple hours. You can apply it heavy and get that 1/4" layer if you want to. BTW, thanks for the tip about the color.
