Rapture or Stiletto - a SS Prop question

Which of these are the best for my boat, or is another brand better? I'm running a Merc inline 6, 150HP motor on a 16' Avenger speedboat. Boat has a shallow V bottom, and a jackplate. Boat, motor and driver (and gear) weigh about 1300#. I get 58-6000RPM (54MPH)with an old, worn 19" pitch Merc SS prop and about 5200 (51MPH) with a good 21" pitch aluminum Merc prop. The WOT Max RPM difference between the two props is excessive. However neither of these props have the high-rake design. Also, I think I require more bowlift, since it runs pretty flat at high speed.

Our experience has been that the Stiletto should work better for you. However, (dont ya just love that?) a Turbo should be better yet. Since youre looking for lift, take a look at the Lightning Jr. Since you already have a jackplate I'd opt for the better technology prop.

If you ever get the chance try the Lightning series. Nice diameter, great bite, lotsa lift. They even have a 4 blade Lightning for the V6. Awesome.<br /><br />I'd love to see him try the lightning JR on that inline. 13 1/2" diameter should do well on that hull.

DHadley, I was thinking that a 20" pitch would be the best for me. <br /><br />Does anyone have a link to someone that sells the Lightening Jr? I did a google search and was unable to find a link to Turbo prop that will fit my inline 6.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Those in-lines were down on power. I just looked and a 22 is all I have in the Merc line. If you want a new one I can hook you up with a guy. Send me an e-mail at dhadley50@aol.com and use "Prop" as the subject. If you use something else it'll probably get deleted.
