Not a real good picture, but I don't see a heat exchanger, so the engines look to be raw water cooled.

I see a heat exchanger, so they ARE fresh water cooled. The other thing that tells me is they are '470's, and all 470s are freshwater cooled.

So, given they are 470s, unless you know exactly what you are letting yourself in for, do not buy the boat. 470's have they very own set of issues and problems. Some are able to be engineered away, others are not.

Thanks, Chris . . . I was not sure if they were 470's. A 1987 anything would be a bit of work regardless. 470's would be icing on the cake 🤪

according to the ad, it comes with a spare parts motor....:poop:

3 things against that boat ad

  • it has the 470 motors
  • its a 36 year old boat
  • the tow vehicle is too small to pull it.
run (dont walk) away from the boat.

I have worked on that very model. If you ever have to remove the port engine you will need to remove the manifold, front mount, heat exchanger, flywheel cover, drive coupler, flywheel, and then check in at the hospital for a transfusion.
This would be a really good project for a pair of 200/300 hp outboards.
